Tesco has released a new installment in its “Food Love Stories” campaign. This time, the retailer tells the story of Alia’s “Worth the Wait” samosas.

The spot opens with Alia in the kitchen preparing various meals, including her famous veggie samosas, which her son, Umar, absolutely loves. Desperate to taste their crunchy, golden exterior and lightly spiced veggie filling, he tries to get his hands on one, but his mother stops him in the very last moment, giving him instead an apple and telling him to go spot the Moon. While he does that, Alia continues to cook the meals and have them ready before their guests arrive for a family gathering, over Ramadan and Eid.

They all get together and take a seat around the table, ready to enjoy the delicious dishes. At this point, Alia goes to find Umar. She goes to his room carrying a tray filled with her samosas and wishes the boy Eid Mubarak.

The soundtrack is a song whose lyrics include “You know I said it’s true, I can feel the love, can you feel it, too?”

Quality ingredients for special moments,” the voiceover says at the end of the advert, adding the tagline “Food love stories brought to you by Tesco”.

Alia’s “worth the wait” samosas are made with finely diced potatoes and carrots, green beans, peas, sweetcorn, onion, garlic paste, birds-eye chillies, sheets of spring roll pastry, and lots of spices, all of which can be purchased online and in stores. Consumers can find her recipe, as well as many other recipes, inspired by other food love stories, such as Sue’s “dive in” crispy pork noodles, Tesco finest dinner for two, and more, on the supermarket chain’s website.
