HSBC UK promotes its multi-currency Global Money Account, which allows you to spend and send money around the world in multiple currencies – with no minimum balance or account fee – in a new advert.
Created by Wunderman Thompson UK, the spot features British comedian Richard Ayoad going to different places around the world, from a UK train station to a tropical beach, an Indian city, a Moroccan souk, and an alpine ski slope, and highlighting that he can pay with his Global Money card with no fees.
The soundtrack music is an instrumental cover of Queen’s iconic song “I Want to Break Free”, from their “The Works” album.
The campaign includes TV, VoD, cinema, out-of-home (OOH) and radio.
Global Money account owners can convert, hold or send money with competitive exchange rates and access to over 200 countries/territories worldwide. They can also check and manage their money easily through the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app. This app gives them 24/7 access to ‘Chat with us’ in the ‘Support’ tab, the possibility to move money between currencies quickly and easily, and to open a Global Money Account in minutes.
Richard Ayoad teamed up with HSBC in 2021 and appeared in a spot created by Wunderman Thompson, which shows him using a traditional white line marker to create borders and underline issues within society around equal opportunities, such as racism and gender inequality.
