Heineken promotes its Silver beer in a new commercial, imagining what it was like if Heineken Silver was a riveting viking saga.
The spot opens with a young couple in the woods trying to kiss each other. Unfortunately for them, the woman’s father, a ferocious and furious Viking king, shows up, surrounded by several of his soldiers, and approaches her lover, who is taken by surprise. The King is apparentely infuriated by the fact that the man’s family had tortured his first wife and stolen his second favorite goats and now he wants to marry his daughter.
At this point, the young man takes out a can of Heineken Silver and gives it to his fiancee’s father, who – after taking a sip from it – exclaims “Ok!” and hugs him.
“All the taste. No bitter endings,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial, which sees the young couple celebrating their wedding in a joyful enviroment.
Last year, the brand promoted its Silver beer, which has a crisp and refreshing taste, 3.2 carbs and 95 calories, in an advertising campaign titled “Extra fresh for real”. One of the spots features a young man who seems to be diving under water, in search for something, but it turns out he was actually behind an aquarium, grabbing a can of Heineiken Silver. Other ads feature a man who is apparently in the desert, but is actually standing in front of a monitor while his friends play a video game, a curly haired woman who seems to be in a rooftop pool but is actually sitting on a bench, at a BBQ party, a young woman who apparently is on a fancy bed, enjoying an exotic vacation, when she’s actually on the rooftop of her block, with her friends holding some white sheets near her.
