Online shopping site Temu, which which sells ultra-low-price goods, made its Super Bowl debut this year, with a commercial titled “Shop Like a Billionaire.”
The spot follows a young woman who discovers the Temu mobile app and dozens of pieces of clothing and accessories at cheap prices. “I like it, yep, it’s mine, the prices blow my mind, I feel so rich, I feel like a billionaire, I’m shopping like a billionaire,” are some of the lyrics of the song playing in the background.
“Get the Temu app and shop like a millionaire,” the voiceover says at the end of the 30-second video.
The spot aired during the first and third quarters of the game, which saw the Philadelphia Eagles playing against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Temu app is owned by Chinese e-commerce giant PDD Holdings Inc, previously called Pinduoduo, one of China’s biggest e-commerce companies rivaling the likes of Alibaba and JD.com.
As part of its Super Bowl promotion and “Game Day Deals”, Temu offers free shipping for a limited time on a variety of products from across categories ranging from Fashion to Electronics.
