Chanel has released a commercial starring Whitney Peak for its Coco Mademoiselle fragrance.
The Ugandan-Canadian actress, who was announced as new face of Coco Mademoiselle a few days ago, becoming thus the first Black fragrance ambassador for the brand, is featured in various settings in Paris. She is shown enjoying the stunning views from a convertible, in the company of some girl friends, going on a night out with them, dancing, taking photos and having fun.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the spot features the song “Follow Me” performed by Amanda Lear.
The 20-year-old, a star of the 2021 reboot of Gossip Girl and Hocus Pocus 2, first became a US brand ambassador for Chanel in 2021 and served as the muse for its 2022 handbag campaign, joining thus Kate Moss and Keira Knightley.
The label described Peak in a statement as “the embodiment of today’s youth”, adding that her “curiosity, confidence, appetite for experiences and lack of preconceptions echo the temperament of the young Coco Chanel”.
