Warner Hotels, which provide unique adults-only breaks at 15 stunning countryside and coastal hotels with dining, leisure facilities, entertainment, and activities all included in the price, have launched their biggest ad campaign to date, in partnership with NOW advertising and Private Island production.
The advert, directed by Chris Boyle, is set in a surreal parallel universe far, where a bunch of mischievous kids have taken over Warner Hotels.
Dozens, maybe hundreds of children, are shown complaining, hoverboarding and noisily tablet-tapping their way through every corner of the hotel and even giving a horror twist to the scenes. However, the chaos comes to an end as they all soon vanish into thin air because Warner Hotels are designed only for adults.
“Enjoy a kid-free break” an onscreen line reads at the end of the spot, which also sees the tagline “Designed for adults” flashing across the screen, along with another line urging viewers to book now at the warner hotels website.
The soundtrack is “Night on Bare Mountain”, originally composed by Modest Mussorgsky.
Ben da Costa, Chief Creative Officer at NOW, the agency behind the advert, said that they had to create a world where kids take over Warner, without filming them at the hotel itself and – to do this – they used a studio in London to film the kids causing mayhem against a green screen.
The hotel scenes have been shot at the Studley Castle Hotel and then the two have been put together to make it look as if the kids were actually there. A few special effects have been used, as well.
“The advert is just the beginning of an exciting new horizon for Warner, and we can’t wait to reveal more about the refreshed brand in the coming months,” Simon Thompson, Managing Director at Warner Hotels, said in a press release.
