TurboTax Live Man Taking Care of Plants Commercial Song

TurboTax Live Plants Commercial - Frank's Palm

Intuit promotes its TurboTax Live in a new commercial, part of the “Not Taxes” campaign.

The spot, titled “Plants Are Not Taxes”, features a young man taking care of his plants while in the background the song “True” by Spandau Ballet plays. “Come to TurboTax and don’t do your taxes,” the voiceover says at the end of the advertisement, urging viewers to “meet with an expert who’ll do them so you can do… not taxes.” At this point, it is also revealed that the man is the owner of a place called “Frank’s Palm”.

The main spot of the campaign, set to the tune of Mort Garson’s single “Plantasia”, features a diverse cast of individuals doing various things that represent hobbies or other leisure activities, called “not taxes”, such as hiking and admiring stunning views, playing chess, spending quality time with their babies, swimming in a pool, doing yoga by the pool, and playing the piano, thanks to the fact that they have a TurboTax expert doing their taxes for them. The voiceover declares that “Once you’ve met with a TurboTax expert, who’ll do your taxes for you, you’re free to do… Not Taxes.”

Intuit says that 100% of TurboTax Live experts are CPAs, EAs or Tax Attorneys who can even review your return line by line, sign it, and guarantee it’s done right.

TurboTax offers a Live Basic Package, which is essentially the free version but with on-demand video access to a tax pro for help, advice and a final review, a Deluxe package, which lets you itemize and claim other tax deductions and tax credits, and includes the ItsDeductible feature for calculating the value of donated items, a Premier package, which is the Deluxe version plus added capability for reporting investments and rental income, and comes with on-demand video access to a tax pro, and the Self-Employed package, which provides everything in the Premier package plus deduction help and expense-tracking features for freelancers, independent contractors and side-hustlers.
