Hulu has released the official trailer for its upcoming original series How I Caught My Killer.
The series is a true-crime docu-series that highlights the real-life stories behind unique homicide cases with in-depth interviews, authentic archival material and cinematic recreations all packaged together into a fresh spin in the genre.
The trailer opens with a statistics saying that, every year, there are roughly 10,000 unsolved murders in America and gives viewers a glimpse at some of the nine cases featured in the series and how those cases have been solved thanks to the victims’ intervention. A fitness app that counts steps, a journal with names in it, social media posts, cell tower data – all these have been essential in solving certain murder cases. “They solved their own murder from beyond the grave” a man says, at some point, during an interview.
“You can’t bury the truth” an onscreen line reads in the trailer, which features the song “Call the Shots” by Louise Dowd & Toni Halliday.
How I Caught My Killer premieres on Hulu later this month, January 12.
