Uber Eats promotes its newest offer, which gives new Uber One members 3 months with $0 delivery fee in case of late delivery of orders, in a series of new commercials, developed on the idea that “Uber Eats orders are on time 95% of the time. Unless something unexpected happens”.
One of the spots, dubbed “Good Deeds Happen”, depicts an unlikely scenario, in which an Uber Eats delivery is delayed because Aaron Donald is “a total sweetheart” and helps an old lady cross the street but a hasty commuter makes a rash decision and honks before asking himself if that is Aron Donald. After looking into the NFL player’s eyes and seeing the look on the old lady’s face, the driver abandons his car, shouting “I’m sorry!”, which leads to a delay for the Uber Eats driver.
The voiceover declares that, “if an abandoned sedan makes your Eats late, we’ll make it right with 3 months of $0 delivery fee.” “How’s that for a good deed?” he also asks at the end of the commercial, which also informs that Uber Eats is the Official On-Demand Food Delivery Partner of the NFL.
The “on time” claim is based on Latest Arrival time shown after order is placed. Orders are late if delivered after this Latest Arrival time. The offer ends February 19, 2023. Current Uber One members are not eligible. Viewers are also informed that subscription will auto-renew at the currently monthly fee starting 3 months from initial enrollment in the Uber One free trial and every month thereafter.
Shoppers who make purchases from grocery stores must have a $35 minimum order to get the $0 Delivery Fee and up to 5% off. Orders from non-grocery stores must be of at least $15 for shoppers to get the $0 Delivery Fee and up to 10% off.
