Toyota Canada promotes its Toyota Service Connect, described as “a new level of service for your Toyota”, in a new commercial.
Titled “Good news,” the 30-second spot features a man and his wife ready to hit the road in their Toyota when a “Maintenance Required” notification appears on the car’s display. “Oh, no, now there’s no way we can drive to your work party,” the husband tells – apparently upset – his wife, who remains silent. “The day’s ruined,” he also adds, while answering a phone call from Toyota Service. “Guess you saw the notification here,” he says to the customer service representative as an introduction. “I’ll tell ya, I can’t believe that I don’t get to drive all the way to my wife’s all-day work event,” he tells the person calling them. The latter, a very nice lady, declares that she sees the notification, too, and explains to him that this just means he’s due for his next service appointment. “Ohh, that’s great!” he exclaims, but it’s obvious that he’s not too happy about it.
The commercial ends with the tagline “Service Connect. Details make the difference” flashing across the screen.
With Toyota Service Connect, Toyota owners can get personalized maintenance updates and health reports of their vehicles on their smartphones. All they need to do is connect to the Toyota App, and they can check the health and status of their vehicle no matter where they are.
