Tim Hortons Children's Book A Nest in the North Christmas Commercial - Feat. Traveling Goose

Tim Hortons has launched its holiday campaign and children’s book “A Nest in the North,” with 100% of the proceeds from book sales being donated to the UN Refugee Agency.

The TV ad, developed in partnership with creative agency GUT Toronto and titled “KindNest”, tells a heartwarming story about having to leave home under difficult circumstances and seeking a new life in a foreign land. The protagonist is a goose that flies across different lands in search of a new home. Her journey is long and marked not only by extreme weather conditions at times but also by refusals. Other birds, including a parrot, are shown forbidding the goose to stay on “their” lands. The “homeless” bird is thus forced to keep flying until she arrives in a snowy landscape and manages to take some rest. The next morning, a Canadian Goose welcomes her and takes her in.

“Give the gift of kindness this holiday” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial.

The soundtrack is “It’s Gonna Be Alright” by Andreya Triana, from her 2019 album, “Life In Colour”.

Tim Hortons co-developed “A Nest in the North” with Veronika Kotyk, an illustrator and graphic designer who made her journey to Canada from Ukraine in June 2022.

The book is available to purchase as a hard-copy book or eBook at anestinthenorth.ca and 100% of proceeds from sales will be donated to the UN Refugee Agency.
