Woolworths tapped into the nostalgia created by memories of childhood and Christmas celebrations in its Christmas 2022 commercial.
The spot, created BY M&C Saatchi, features a grandmother hosting a festive lunch at her house, where her children and grandchildren reunited for the holidays. The video captures the simple joy of mango by showing the childhood memories of the woman who is now in her 60s and still loves the smell of fresh mango. In fact, all her family members know this so it’s no surprise that one of the baubles in the Christmas tree is actually a nicely wrapped mango.
“It’s the little things that make Christmas special. So we’re here to help you get your woolies right,” the voiceover says at the end of the 60-second ad.
The soundtrack music is provided by the song “Our Love” performed by the Australian band Great Gable from Bunbury, Western Australia.
The retailer revealed that the ad was filmed on a mango farm in the Northern Territory, which has supplied fresh mangos to Woolworths for 13 years.
The integrated campaign includes TV, radio, press, digital, content, social, OOH, as well as in-store activity.
