Daniel Craig stars in a new ad for vodka brand Belvedere, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi.
The spot features the James Bond actor dancing through a swank hotel in Paris, on his way to a fridge from which he grabs a bottle of Belvedere Vodka. “Finally!” he exclaims as he’s ready to take a sip out of a glass.
The brand revealed that Craig has been skillfully and humorously choreographed by celebrated choreographer JaQuel Knight, to an original track written and performed by global superstars Rita Ora and Giggs and produced by hitmakers Invisible Men, Bandits, and Hungry Man. Wearing two different outfits – an all-black one, consisting of black trousers, a black tank top, silver hip-hop chain, sunglasses, and a black leather jacket, and an all-white outfit, consisting of white trousers and a white tank top – he snaps his fingers, he thrusts his hips, he struts, he boogies, he twerks, he sheds layers of clothing, and even walks on water.
In the director’s cut version of the ad, Waititi makes an appearance as director and, while an attendant keeps a fan in front of him and another one serves him with sushi – he tells Craig “Let’s go again, just be yourself”. The latter flashes a smile and reveals sparkling “DC” grills.
The British star ended his 15-year run as James Bond with “No Time to Die” last year and will soon be seen again on screens as wacky detective Benoit Blanc in “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” the sequel to Rian Johnson’s 2019 comedy-drama “Knives Out.”
