Netflix Series: The Watcher - Trailer Actress Naomi Watts

Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming thriller series The Watcher.

From the creator of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy, who co-created the series with Ian Brennan based on a true story, the show stars Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale as married couple Nora and Dean Brannock who, after purchasing their dream home in the idyllic suburb of Westfield, New Jersey, realize the neighborhood is less than welcoming. According to the official logline, “Their icy welcome quickly turns into a full-blown living hell when ominous letters from someone calling themself ‘The Watcher’ start arriving, terrorizing the Brannocks to their breaking point as the neighborhood’s sinister secrets come spilling out.”

The cast also includes Margo Martindale, Mia Farrow, Terry Kinney, Jennifer Coolidge, and more.

The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at the family’s struggles and at some of their neighborly suspects, including an older woman played by Mia Farrow and her brother, Jasper, played by Terry Kinney, who sneaks into the Brannocks’ house and hides in their dumbwaiter, Karen, the realtor and an old acquaintance of Nora’s, who makes them feel like they don’t really belong, and nosy neighbors played by Richard Kind and Margo Martindale, who don’t seem to understand property lines.

The song used in the trailer is Olivia Newton-John’s 1987 “Hopelessly Devoted to You”, recorded for Grease: The Original Soundtrack.

The Watcher will be released on Netflix October 13th.
