Hulu has released the trailer for its upcoming cinematic half-hour comedy series This Fool.
Inspired by the life and stand-up of star and co-creator Chris Estrada, the show is set in working class South Central Los Angeles and revolves around Julio Lopez, a 30-year-old who still lives at home, has been dating his girlfriend on and off since high school, and finds any excuse to avoid dealing with his own problems. According to the official synopsis, Julio works at Hugs Not Thugs, a gang rehabilitation non-profit, where he butts heads with his older cousin Luis, an ex-gang member who just got out of prison and moved in with Julio and his family.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at Julio’s life, who works at Hugs Not Thugs, where they rehabilitate ex-gang members by offering free legal counselling, solar panel installation classes, and more.
The song playing in the opening of the trailer is the 2000 single “Only Time” by Enya. Included on the beloved Celtic new age diva’s “A Day Without Rain” album, the track is available for purchase on Amazon for $1.29.
and the one playing at the end of the trailer is the instrumental part of “Freestyle Session” by L’Axe Lourd & Bele & Bome & Jack.
This Fool will be released on Hulu next month, on August 12.
