McDonald’s UK has released a new advert to promote its Summer Menu.
The spot features two girl friends riding a scooter down a road in Italy, while in the background the song “On Days Like These” by Matt Monro is playing.
As the video ends, it turns out the two travel companions are actually at a McDonald’s drive-thru, ordering one Italian Stack and one Crispy Chicken Italiano.
“Holiday from home with the McDonald’s Summer Menu,” the voiceover says at the end of the 30-second advert, mentioning the Crispy Chicken Italiano and the Italian Stack.
The chain’s new summer menu, inspired by holiday destinations across the world and launched on June 8, also brings consumers a taste of Italy, Spain, and Cyprus. They will be able to enjoy, until July 26th, items like the Italian Stack Burger (made with two 100% beef patties, mozzarella, crispy onions, a rich tomato sauce, lettuce and a smooth cheese, bechamel-like sauce, served within a freshly toasted tomato and herb style bun), the Crispy Chicken Italiano Burger, Mozzarella Dippers and Tiramisu McFlurry (which is a soft dairy ice cream swirled with chocolate flavoured biscuit pieces, and a luxurious coffee-and-chocolate flavoured sauce).
From July 27th through September 6th, McDonald’s will be serving a Spicy Spanish Stack Burger, Chicken Fiesta Burger, Halloumi Fries and Fruit Punch as part of the Taste of Spain and Cyrpus Menu.
