It’s that special moment of putting them on for the first time and thinking – ah, that’s more like it.” This is the idea behind the latest Rothy’s ad, which aimed to capture that feeling and encourage people to just imagine what they can do with shoes that inspire movement, comfort and joy.
The commercial, filmed in the desert outside of Los Angeles over the course of two days, features a crew of 13 dancers wearing the brand’s The Point and The Flat shoes, dancing on a custom-built stage created with 10 mirrors on a hill to the rhythms of a house tune.
The spot debuted during the E! Live From the Red Carpet special on Sunday, May 15.
The brand revealed that it had about 105 members on set across both days to do everything from styling, to choreography to camera work and that the crew included even one snake wrangler after a rattlesnake was found during the location scout.
The Point and The Flat, knit from Rothy’s signature thread (spun from plastic water bottles) and 100% machine washable for a fresh feel, feature comfortable insoles in black and durable outsoles and are available in several colors.
