Netflix has dropped the trailer for its brand-new Turkish original series As the Crow Flies, written by Meriç Acemi and directed by Deniz Yorulmazer.
According to the official synopsis, the show revolves around a young fan who maneuvers her way into a seasoned anchor’s newsroom but soon confronts the dark side of ambition, envy, and the desire to be seen.
The cast ensemble includes Birce Akalay, Miray Daner, Ibrahim Celikkol, Irem Sak, Defne Kayalar, and Defne Kayalar.
The trailer opens with the voiceover saying that “this is the story of predator and prey” and “a war between the lions and the birds.” Akalay’s character, successful news anchor Lale Kiran, is approached by a young woman named Asli Tuna (played by Daner), who applied as an intern and is eager to have the life the anchor has. In one of the scenes, Lale Kiran says she feels cold, as if a predator is watching her in the jungle.
As the trailer ends, the narrator explains that this is also a war between a great ego and blind ambition.
The soundtrack music is “Be Careful What You Wish For” by NineOneOne. Included on the 2020 album “Emo Ballads”, the song is available for purchase on Amazon for $0.99.
As The Crow Flies launches only on Netflix, June 3rd.
