GUESS showcases the GUESS Originals x J Balvin Amor Summer 2022 Collection in a new commercial.
According to the brand, the collection is inspired by Balvin’s documentary “The Boy from Medellin” and ties into the GUESS DNA of iconic graphics and elevated fabrics while incorporating a deeper emphasis on who Balvin is beyond the fame, and his journey with mental health.
Directed by Colin Tilley, the commercial follows a diverse cast of people in an amusement park, wearing pieces from the new lineup, which features a mix of vibrant and pastel colors in a variety of uplifting hues, expressive graphics such as swirl stripes, hearts, and clovers. The men’s collection includes a new take on the GUESS Originals cargo pant, which now boasts a relaxed profile and elevated twill fabric, eco rayon camp shirts that pair with coordinating swim trunks, denim trucker jacket and carpenter pant enhanced with vibrant graphics. The women’s collection includes easy-to-wear graphic shirts, coordinating swimsuits and tops, crochet tops and dresses, and bright-colored accessories.
Balvin also makes an appearance in the commercial as the soundtrack is his single “Qué Más Pues?” featuring Maria Becerra.
The 47-piece collection, which ranges from $14 for socks to $148 for the iconic varsity jacket, will be available for purchase starting Thursday, May 12, 2022 on the brand’s website and select GUESS stores.
