Nissan has enlisted Pep Guardiola to star in its newest ad for Nissa ARIYA.
The commercial, titled “Be More Pep with the new Nissan ARIYA,” features a diverse cast of people who, after seeing the legendary football manager driving the new Nissan ARIYA across the city, want to be more like him. Thus, one restaurant manager begins to act like a tactical mastermind while holding a meeting with his staff, a fashion store manager dresses the mannequins in the window with clothes similar to Pep’s clothes, and a man waiting in a barbershop decides to shave his head in order to be more like Pep.
“Be More Pep with the new Nissan ARIYA” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, which is set to the tune of The Barber of Seville – Figaro’s Aria by Gioachino Rossini.
The Manchester City manager is, along with Eden Hazard, one of Nissan global ambassadors. In 2021 he swapped his series of supercars for the 100% electric Nissan Leaf.
The automaker has also enlisted several other celebrities in the past to promote its cars.
Among them are actress Brie Larson, who is a brand ambassador as well, Emmy Award-Winning actor Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Danai Gurira and Dave Bautista. They all starred in the brand’s Super Bowl 2022 commercial, created by TBWA/Chiat/Day/NY and directed by Craig Gillespie.
