Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming sci-fi movie The Adam Project.
Written by Jonathan Tropper, T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin, and directed by Shawn Levy (best known as an executive producer and director on the hit Netflix series Stranger Things), the movie revolves around time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed (Ryan Reynolds) who, after accidentally crash-landing in 2022, teams up with his 12-year-old self on a mission to save the future.
The cast also includes Walker Scobell as Adam’s young version, Jennifer Garner as Adam’s mother, Mark Ruffalo as Adam’s father, Zoe Saldaña as Adam’s wife, and Catherine Keener as the villain.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at the movie action, with Reynolds’ character hoping to travel back in time to 2018 to prevent his own father from inventing time travel, but mistakenly ending up in 2022 and facing off with his 11-year-old self.
The song used in the trailer is the 1976 single “Foreplay/Long Time” by American rock band Boston, from their self-titled debut album.
The Adam Project will begin streaming globally on Netflix on Friday, March 11.
