Corona has released a new commercial starring Snoop Dogg. This time, the rapper is joined by Andy Samberg, who learns that the best plans are no plans at all.
The spot features the two fellows lounging in the sun, on an exotic beach, with a bucket of ice-cold Corona Extra beers between them. Asked by Samberg, who’s holding his smartphone in his hands, what they are doing today, Snoop “Do double g” – as Sandberg called him – answers that they are “just living the fine life”, which makes his companion decide to block off his calendar. At this point, the rapper asks for the phone and puts it in the bucket. He grabs instead a bottle of Corona Extra, hands it to Sandberg, and tells him that “the best plans are no plans.” “You know what, Snoop ‘Do double G’? I think you might be right,” replies Samberg, who feels enlightened after this conversation. Snoop Dogg confidently says he knows he’s right and suggests he call him Snoop. The comedian says he got it, but it soon turns out he keeps telling him as he got used to.
The Constellation Brands’ Corona beer label enlisted the rap icon for its “La Vida Mas Fina” campaign in 2020. The deal, valued at more than US$10M, implied the appearance in multiple commercials. However, the legendary rapper wasn’t the only celebrity featured in the ads. He has also shared the screen with several other famous faces, including Bad Bunny and Zoe Saldana.
