NBC has released the trailer for its upcoming series “The Thing About Pam,” starring Renée Zellweger, which details the involvement of Pam Hupp in the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria.
Based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’ conviction, although he insisted he didn’t kill her, the show stars Zellweger as Pam Hupp, Josh Duhamel as Joel Schwartz, the defense attorney for Russ Faria, Judy Greer as Leah Askey, the Lincoln County prosecutor who tried Russ Faria twice for his wife’s murder, Katy Mixon as Betsy Faria, Russ’ wife, Mariah Day’s mother, and the murder victim, Sean Bridgers as Mark Hupp, Pam Hupp’s husband, Glenn Fleshler as Russ Faria, Betsy’s husband and Mariah’s father, Gideon Adlon as Mariah Day, Betsy and Russ’ 17-year-old daughter, and more.
According to the official synopsis, this brutal crime set off a chain of events that would expose a diabolical scheme deeply involving Pam Hupp. A thorough examination of the scheme was featured on several episodes of “Dateline NBC,” and it also became the subject of a popular 2019 podcast, “The Thing About Pam,” which remains one of the most downloaded podcasts on Apple Podcasts.
The Thing About Pam premieres on NBC next month, on March 8.
