2022 Series: Peaky Blinders Season 6

The trailer for the sixth and final season of the award-winning period gangster saga Peaky Blinders has been released.

The series, from Creator and writer Steven Knight, sees Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Tommy Shelby, who is seeking a means for the titular Birmingham-based clan to finally rest. Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Finn Cole, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sophie Rundle, and Stephen Graham also star.

The trailer shows the seasoned criminal Tommy Shelby, who comes back from WWI emotionally dead and with the goal to accumulate money, devoting his time to opposing fascism. “This will be the end of us” and “One of us isn’t going to be here for long” are two of the statements viewers can clearly hear. Shelby is also shows pulling a gun out on the character played by Stephen Graham, who will be a special guest on the series.

The song used in the trailer is the 2018 single “Hunter” by English singer/songwriter Anna Calvi, from her third studio album, “Hunter”.

“Peaky is back and with a bang. After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form,” Knight said in a press statement. He also said that “many other things are gonna happen to Tommy that audiences will not be expecting”.

Season 6, set to premiere in early 2022, will air on BBC One in the UK. It will also be available on Netflix. A companion film is planned to go into production, later on.
