Booking.com has enlisted Idris Elba to star in its Super Bowl commercial and has released a series of videos featuring the A-list actor.
In one of them, Elba video calls up his buddies and fellow spokespersons Isaiah Mustafa and Jonathan Goldsmith to get some extra ideas for his Big Game debut. He thanks them for taking the time to talk to him and announces them that he wants to be a spokesman for booking.com. “I really just wanted to reach out to two icons of the advertising world,” he says. At this point, his spokes-blokes start asking him questions about how he will appear in the ad.
Goldsmith asks him if he’s gonna be wearing a shirt. Mustafa, on the other hand, wants to know if there are going to be any singing animals or maybe fire explosions, or cars driving in with people jumping out, paragliding.
The 30-second video ends with Elba stating that he will definitely wear a shirt and with an onscreen line urging viewers to watch Idris in his big game debut.
This will be the travel company’s first Super Bowl commercial. However, this wouldn’t be the first time Elba stars in a Super Bowl commercial. In 2019, he appeared in the Big Game ad for website-building platform Squarespace.
