American Express has released a new commercial to inform that, with Amex Jersey Assurance, card members can request a free replacement jersey from the NBA Store, for up to one year from Card purchase and within 14 days of their favorite player switching teams.
The 30-second ad features the reactions of a diverse cast of NBA fans who find out that their favorite player is traded up. One of them, who’s listening the sports news in the bathtub and learns that it has been confirmed that the player is packing up and heading to LA next season, bursts into tears, another one is crying near the window, on a rainy day, another fan, hearing that Miami is losing their star player, honks his horn, and another one has his breakfast, consisting of two eggs and a piece of smoked bacon, arranged on the plate as a sad face.
“We can’t stop him from being traded, but we can help you trade in his jersey with Amex Jersey Assurance,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial, mentioning that card members can get a free replacement jersey from the NBA store when their favorite player switches teams. “One of the many things you can expect when you’re with Amex,” the voiceover also says.
The song used in the ad is the 2019 song Friend in Me by The Walls Group, from their album of the same name. The track is available for purchase on Amazon for $0.99.
