Ford and AMV BBDO have launched a new ad campaign for Ford Ranger.
The spot, titled “Night Swimming,” features a group of friends swimming underwater, at night. As the ad ends, it turns out they are in a lake and the lights viewers see come from the headlights of several Ranger pickup trucks, which slowly emerge from the water onto dry land.
The ad demonstrates the truck’s wading depth of 31.5 inches (800mm) and highlights the Ford Ranger’s awards of International Pick-up 2020 and What Car? Pick-up of the Year 2021.
The soundtrack music is the 2011 single “Wolf & I” by Danish recording artist Oh Land, from her self-titled second studio album.
The advert has been shot in Romania during summer 2021 and has been directed by Adam Berg through production company Smuggle. The campaign also includes print and digital out-of-home ads featuring aquatic images shot by photographer Benedict Redgrove.
