Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the trailer for the upcoming darkly comedic, genre-bending film BIG GOLD BRICK.
Written and directed by Brian Petsos, the movie recounts the story of fledgling writer Samuel Liston and his experiences with Floyd Deveraux, the enigmatic middle-aged father of two who enlists Samuel to write his biography. According to the official synopsis, the circumstances that lead up to this arrangement in the first place are quite astonishing – and efforts to write the biography are quickly stymied by ensuing chaos.
The cast includes Andy Garcia as Deveraux, Emory Cohen as Liston, Megan Fox as Lucy, Deveraux’ wife, Lucy Hale as Lilly, Floyd’s daughter from his first marriage, and Oscar Isaac.
The trailer reveals that Deveraux hits Liston with the car one night and then invites him to his home to spend some time with him and his family until he gets himself back on his feet. He also asks him to write his biography, which Liston agrees. But things take a dramatic turn as he embarks on this journey.
The song used in the trailer is “March of Toys” by Adrian Berenguer, from his 2020 album “Youth”. The track is available for purchase on Amazon for $0.99.
BIG GOLD BRICK will be in theaters and on Digital February 25, 2022.
