Sephora celebrates diversity and inclusion in its holiday commercial, which urges people to give more than a gift this holiday season because the people on their list aren’t just names to check off.
The spot features a diverse cast of people, including same sex couples, a mother and her daughter and a woman and her neighbor, as they surprise their loved ones with a gift from Sephora. The ad, which associates the word “Gift” with the words “excitement”, “connection” and “love,” shows the reaction of those who receive the gift, a Sephora gift card or a beauty product they like.
“It’s the beauty you give” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, which is scored by Lady Wray’s single “Smiling” from her 2016 album “Queen Alone”.
