DIRECTV has released a new mashup commercial starring Serena Williams. If, last time, she became Wonder Woman in a Wonder Woman 1984-themed ad, this time she becomes a Matrix character.
The spot opens with two friends sitting on a bench and talking about DIRECTV’s STREAM, which lets them get Live TV and On Demand anywhere. One of them shows his fellow scenes of the tennis champion during a game and scenes from the movie Matrix until Serena Williams gets into the movie. She plays and wins a tennis match against multiple players (a woman that divided into several clones), which makers the guy’s friend exclaim that she’s the one.
The commercial ends with the voiceover urging viewers to get their TV tTogether with the best of live TV and On Demand.
Created by TBWA\Chiat\Day LA, DIRECTV’s new campaign aims to reflect the dual nature of a satellite television service that specializes in both on-demand movies and live sport.
DIRECTV STREAM offers the most regional sports networks of any streaming service, news, up to 65,000 on-demand titles, and access to more than 7000 apps, including HBO Max, Netflix, and Prime Video on Google Play on the exclusive DIRECTV STREAM Device.
