DICK’S Sporting Goods has launched a new ad campaign to inspire people to give a gift that matters.
One of the spots features two siblings who receive a ping-pong table as a Christmas gift when they are kids and use it for decades. The boy and the girl are shown growing up playing ping-pong at home, in the basement, where the table becomes later on, when they go to college, a support for storage boxes. However, when they return home for the holidays or other occasions, they don’t miss the chance to play again and challenge each other to match after match.
The table tennis player Zachary Jaworowski (12) makes an appearance in the ad, playing the pre-teen version of the protagonist.
The commercial, set to the tune of “Changes” by American singer-songwriter Langhorne Slim, from his 2015 album “The Spirit Moves,” ends with the tagline “Give a gift that lasts forever” flashing across the screen. The song is available for purchase on Amazon, for $1.29.
DICK’S Sporting Goods’ offering includes table tennis tables, basketball hoops, fitness equipment and more. The retailer also gives consumers the possibility to pay over time on the products they purchase with easy payment plans.
