Albert Bartlett promotes its potato bags in a new TV advert, which aims to capture the brand’s essence, character and wit.
The 30-second spot, created by agency Guy &Co. and titled “Make It Extraordinary”, shows a trio of world-class acrobats handling potatoes in an Albert Bartlett factory line, from picking to washing and buffing, to make sure that each bag is potato perfection. For a humorous touch, they are even featured blow drying a potato and, after ensuring it is perfectly dry and smooth, placing it in an Albert Bartlett potato bag.
The advert, set to the tune of a re-composition of Verdi’s classic “Libiamo, ne’ lieti calici” from La Traviata, arranged by renowned composer Debbie Wiseman OBE, ends with a man baking the potatoes in the oven and having guests for lunch. An old lady, his mother – most probably, praises their taste, saying it’s really good potato.
The trio of acrobats – Jacob Grégoire, Alicia Beaudoin and Dylan Herrera – are from Canada’s Flip Fabrique circus group. For this ad, they’ve worked with silver Cannes Lion 2021 winner Nalle Sjöblad, who served as director.
The brand’s “Make It Extraordinary” campaign debuted on TV during Coronation Street on 19th November 2021. The multi-million-pounds marketing effort also includes cinema, digital and social media advertising. Albert Bartlett will also be running a challenge across Instagram and Tik Tok, which will give participants the chance to win a trip to London to meet Michel Roux Jr at his restaurant, Le Gavroche.
