Mental health charity Nabs Canada has launched a new campaign to celebrate World Mental Health Day on October 10 and highlight the importance of setting a limit when it comes to work.
The spot, created by Cossette, features an exhausted woman at the office, late at night, who struggles to finish a campaign for crackers, and an animated cracker named Crumbles who sings to her about the fact that there will always be a deadline, but she should take care of herself and set her mental wellbeing as top priority. The crackers’ mascot reveals her stash of whiskey and drugs that “might numb the pain, but nothing will change,” while highlighting that she doesn’t have a social life anymore and her relationship with her mom has been affected by this job, which “can break you if you let it” and “it can take and take some more.” “When will you open your eyes and get it? It’s 10 p.m. time to head for the door,” he sings, eventually convincing the employee to leave the office and head home.
The film’s original song, “This Job Can Break You,” will also be available on Spotify starting October 11th.
