Lexus promotes the upcoming Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” movie in a new commercial.
The spot features Kumail Nanjiani, who plays Kingo in the superhero film (an Eternal who can project cosmic energy projectiles from his hands) driving the all-new Lexus NX across a city devastated by explosions. When Sprite is calling him to point out that he’s late, he says he needs to find a parking space. He even stops to watch some dedicated parking signs, but after noticing the pigeons above that could stain his car, he decides to keep looking. From the wheel of this Lexus, he also ironically says he hasn’t noticed the battle going on.
“Exhilaration is Eternal in the all-new Lexus NX plug-in hybrid,” the voiceover says at the end of the 30-second commercial, urging viewers to see Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” only in cinemas, starting November 5.
Lexus is not the only company promoting the upcoming Eternals movie. GEICO has also released a spot featuring its longtime mascot, the Gecko, imagining himself an Eternal and spreading the word about the insurance company’s many ways to help people save money.
Directed by ChloĆ© Zhao, the movie follows the Eternals, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years, as they are forced by a tragedy to emerge from hiding and reunite to protect Earth from mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants. The cast ensemble also includes Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kit Harrington, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh and Don Lee.
