Netflix has dropped the trailer for its upcoming half-hour comedy series Pretty Smart, centered on the dynamic between two very different sisters.
The show, from the writers of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and How I Met Your Mother, features Emily Osment as Chelsea, a high-brow, Harvard-educated intellectual and aspiring novelist, who – after getting dumped by her boyfriend – is forced to move in with her bubbly, carefree, not-so-intellectual West Coast sister, Claire (played by Olivia Macklin). The latter also lives with Grant (Gregg Sulkin), her ex-boyfriend who also happens to be a personal trainer, Solana (Cinthya Carmona), a former lawyer turned healer, and Jayden (Michael Hsu Rosen), a fame-obsessed social media influencer.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at Chelsea’s life after she moves in with Claire and her friends, with Chelsea and Grant sharing an instant chemistry which could definitely make things a little awkward around the house.
Season 1 of Pretty Smart, consisting of 10 episodes, will be available on Netflix Friday, October 8.
