Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming Swedish film JJ+E, based on the award-winning book by Mats Wahl.
The movie, set in Stockholm in 2021 and also known as Vinterviken or Vinterviken 2021 in Sweden (a reference to the swimming place where they go on the outskirts of Stockholm), revolves around John-John and Elisabeth (Mustapha Aarab and Elsa Öhrn), two youngsters raised in the same city, but who live light years apart, separated economically, socially and culturally. Their lives change when they start in the same high school class and fall in love with each other.
The cast also includes Magnus Krepper, Loreen, Marika Lagercrantz, Albin Grenholm, Otto Hargne, Simon Mezher, Jonay Pineda Skallak, and Elsa Bergström Terent.
The song used in the trailer is “Eld & Lågor,” the upcoming single from Swedish pop-singer Victor Leksell (named Artist of the Year at the 2021 Swedish Grammis).
Directed by Swedish filmmaker Alexis Almström, director of the film Pink Cloud Syndrome, from a screenplay by Dunja Vujovic, JJ+E will be streaming on Netflix, worldwide, starting on September 8th, 2021.
