Uber has released its Tokyo 2020 Olympics campaign, titled “Stronger Together,” to highlight that “It started with a push, a push that changed everything”.
The spot, created by agency Anomaly, Los Angeles, features Tony Hawk and Nyjah Huston, and emphasizes the importance of a push. “A push that starts from nothing… yet leads to everything. A push that goes from riding hills to backyard pools to straight up walls. Pushing through skinned knees and broken bones. Over cracked pavement, busted ramps and that single pebble. It’s a push that turns a 360 into a 720 into a 900. We used to see ourselves as a family of misfits. But now, the world will call us… Olympians,” the voiceover says in the 60-second ad.
The soundtrack is provided by the 1973 single “Didn’t I” by American soul singer Darondo (born William Daron Pulliam), included on the “Gilles Peterson Digs America: Brownswood USA” album.
