H&M promotes its “Riders of Summer” collection, inspired by the lifestyle of skaters and surfers, in a new commercial.
The spot is fronted by members of Black Girls Skate, who not only rock pieces from the collection, but also share their thoughts about skateboarding. “Skateboarding makes strangers into family. Skating is my happiness. Skating is my escape,” the three girls say in voiceover.
Serving as soundtrack is the 2018 single “Sway” by Swedish singer Tove Styrke, from her third studio album, titled “Sway”.
Among the pieces included in the collection are terry crop tops (available in white, black and tie-dye), crop sweatshirts, short dresses, an oversized T-shirts, high-waist bermuda shorts, bike shorts, sneakers, and more.
Black Girls Skate is a non-profit organization devoted to creating equity, visibility and safety for skaters who identify as Womxn, Non-binary, Trans and Black, African, or Of Color.
