Heineken celebrates people’s resilience over the last year, as the world found new ways to keep the spirit of going out alive but from the safety of their homes in its latest ad campaign.
The spot, created by Publicis Italy and directed by award winning film maker François Rousselet, has been filmed in Barcelona, Spain under strict Covid-19 protocols and features a diverse cast of people who try to make the mundane, everyday moments of lockdown something unexpected and fun. Thus, they all dress up to go out and throw away the trash, do the laundry, walk the dog, shop for groceries, toilet paper, and other items. When they meet in the dark, they enjoy a Heineken together, and head back home late at night or even early in the morning.
The commercial, scored by an original song titled “We’ll Meet Again”, from Production Music, ends with the onscreen line “Nightlife lives on”.
This new campaign was launched one year after the brand’s Ode to Close campaign, which was the first in a series of creatives that showed support for consumers during the global pandemic.
