FOX has released the trailer for its upcoming series The Cleaning Lady.
The show, from executive producer/writer Miranda Kwok, executive producer/showrunner Melissa Carter, executive producer/director Michael Offer and executive producers Shay Mitchell, Rose Marie Vega and Paola Suarez, stars Elodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, a mother who is trying to do the best she can by her sick son. According to the official synopsis, the woman, who is a Cambodian doctor, comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her ailing son, but when the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she refuses to be beaten down and marginalized, and becomes a cleaning lady for organized crime, using her cunning and intelligence to forge her own path in the criminal underworld.
The cast also includes Adan Canto, Martha Millan and newcomers Valentino and Sebastien LaSalle.
The trailer, scored by “Dark Side” by Cece and The Dark Hearts & AG, gives viewers a glimpse at Yung’s character’s struggles and challenges as she enters the criminal underworld and needs to deal with lots of violent people.
The Cleaning Lady is set to debut on FOX later this year.
