Formula E, the single-seater motorsport championship that uses only electric cars, is promoted in a new commercial.
The spot features a diverse cast of people from cities across the planet looking amazed at something which it turns out to be futuristic electric racing cars going wheel to wheel, while in the background a voice recording of Sir Arthur C. Clarke, captured by the BBC at the New York World’s Fair in 1964, plays. Clarke, who was a British engineer, science-fiction writer, science writer, futurist, inventor, and undersea explorer, says “Trying to predict the future is a discouraging hazardous occupation. If, by some miracle, a prophet could describe the future exactly as it was going to take place, his predictions would sound so absurd , so far-fetched that everybody would lock him to scorn. Only if what I tell you appears absolutely unbelievable, every chance of visualizing the future as it really will happen, the only thing we can be sure of about the future is that it will be absolutely fantastic”.
The commercial ends with the tagline “Change. Accelerated” flashing across the screen. The ABB Formula E World Championship also appears on the screen.
The soundtrack music is “Singularity” by Jon Hopkins.
Formula E is the closest, most intense racing series on the planet, where major global car brands go head to head on the streets of the world’s most progressive cities, in five continents.
ABB, a leading global technology company that energizes the transformation of society and industry to achieve a more productive, sustainable future, is title partner of Formula E since 2018.
