Lucozade Energy promotes its soft drink in a new TV ad, released with the tagline “When you’ve got a Lucozade in your hand, IT’S ON”.
The spot follows a young man who’s spinning a hula hoop around his waist everywhere he goes, after he finishes a bottle of Lucozade Energy. Clad in a comfortable outfit, completed with flip-slops, he is listening to music through his headphones and shows off his hula skills in the city streets, while waiting for the traffic lights to turn green, while texting, while strolling in the park, and while heading back home.
“Lucozade. When you’re on, it’s on,” the voiceover says at the end of the video.
Serving as soundtrack is the 1995 single “Here Comes The Hotstepper” by the Jamaican dancehall, hip-hop and reggae artist Ini Kamoze, from his album of the same name.
