Churchill has released a new ad featuring Churchie the dog.
The spot features Churchie, the company’s mascot, going down the Bumpy Slide while the voiceover announces that Churchill gives up to 100 pounds.
“Should life come to a stop, we’ll give you up to 100 pounds for immediate expenses, so you can keep moving,” the narrator says.
The soundtrack is the 2019 single Morals by Africa Express, which also features Moonchild Sanelly, Mahotella Queens, Muzi, and Mr Jukes.
The advert also informs that claims can only be for uninhabitable home due to an insured event (limits apply) or undriveable car with comprehensive cover (excludes glass only claims). Onward travel to one UK destination.
Originally founded in 1989, Churchill’s British bulldog mascot has been around since the mid-90s, first as a real-life dog called Lucas and later as nodding dog Churchie, who was voiced by comedian Bob Mortimer and christened the catchy slogan “Oh yes!”.
In 2019, the car insurance company managed to become the “target” of public outcry after it changed its mascot and used a realistic 3D mascot to replace the cute nodding dog toy that had been used since 1996. In the 2019 ad, Churchie the dog glides through life on a skateboard, showing just how chill he is, knowing that everything has been insured by Churchill.
