After the 5-second teaser recently dropped, which featured actor Michael B. Jordan rain-soaked, Amazon has released its Super Bowl ad.
The spot, created by agency Lucky Generals, opens with a woman at the office presenting to her colleagues Alexa’s new body. As she goes to the window and sees Michael B. Jordan’s face on a truck, she begins daydreaming about what it would be like for Alexa to have Jordan’s body. She is then shown having Jordan by her side in several everyday scenarios as Alexa, which she uses to find out how many tablespoons are in a cup, to turn on the sprinklers (and see Jordan’s body all wet), even though her husband had just ran them, to dim the lights, which means Jordan gets his shirt off, add bath oils to her shopping list and read her audiobook while she’s enjoying a bath at candle light.
The end of the commercial sees the protagonist still daydreaming and uttering some weird sounds under the confused eyes of her coworkers.
Since 2015, when it aired its first Super Bowl ad, the ecommerce platform has teamed up with several celebrities, including Alec Baldwin, Missy Elliott, Jonathan Schwartzman, Cardi B, Rebel Wilson, Anthony Hopkins, who have served as replacements for Alexa’s voice in 2018, Forrest Whitaker, Harrison Ford and astronaut Mark Kelly, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
