CBS has released the trailer for its upcoming Silence of the Lambs spinoff titled Clarice.
The original series stars Rebecca Breeds as FBI Agent Clarice Starling, who returns to the field, to her native rural West Virginia to tackle a new case, one year after the events in Jonathan Demme’s 1991 Oscar-winning film The Silence of the Lambs. “Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice’s bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. However, her complex psychological makeup that comes from a challenging childhood empowers her to begin finding her voice while working in a man’s world, as well as escape the family secrets that have haunted her throughout her life,” the official synopsis reveals.
The cast also includes Kal Penn, Devyn Tyler, Michael Cudlitz, and Marnee Carpenter.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at Starling’s investigation and also features Starling’s FBI colleague Ardelia Mapp (Tyler) and kidnapping survivor Catherine Martin (Marnee Carpenter).
Serving as soundtrack is Brandi Carlile’s cover of John Denver’s classic tune “Country Roads“.
Clarice is scheduled to premiere on February 11 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
