Lionsgate has released the trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller Fatale, starring Oscar winner Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy.
Written by David Loughery and directed by Deon Taylor, the movie revolves around Derrick (Ealy), a successful sports agent who – according to the official synopsis – watches his perfect life slowly disappear when he discovers his wild one-night stand was with a determined police detective (Swank), who entangles him in her latest murder investigation. As he tries desperately to put the pieces together, he falls deeper into her trap, risking his family, his career and even his life”.
The cast also includes Mike Colter, Danny Pino, and Tyrin Turner.
“Life is a road straight and narrow – stay on the road, and it will take you safely home. But make a wrong turn, and you will meet the darkness,” Ealy’s character says in the opening of the trailer, which features him under arrest. It is also shown how he had a one-night stand with Swank’s character and, at a later moment, when someone breaks into his house and attacks him, she shows up as a detective to investigate the case, which seemed, but wasn’t a robbery. His life takes a dramatic turn from that moment as the woman seems to seek revenge for something.
Serving as soundtrack is a dramatic cover of iconic single All My Life, originally released in 1996 by American R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo.
Initially scheduled for a July release, the movie was moved to October 30 because of coronavirus restrictions at movie theaters and then moved further into 2021. However, the distributor has settled on a December 18 release in theaters.
