Apple TV has released the official trailer for its upcoming film Palmer, starring Justin Timberlake.
The musician/actor plays former high school football star Eddie Palmer who, after spending 12 year in prison, returns home to put his life back together – and forms an unlikely bond with Sam, an outcast boy from a troubled home. According to the official synopsis, Eddie’s past threatens to ruin his new life and family.
The cast also includes Ryder Allen, Alisha Wainwright, June Squibb, Juno Temple, Jesse C. Boyd, J.D. Evermore, Lance E. Nichols, and Jay Florsheim.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at Eddie’s life once he returns to his hometown, at the events taking place after he decides to take care of Sam, a 7-year-old boy who likes to dress and play like a girl, and more.
The song used in the trailer is “Redemption” by soul singer Nathaniel Rateliff, who wrote it specially for this movie.
Palmer, directed by Fisher Stevens from a screenplay by Cheryl Guerriero, premieres on Apple TV+ on January 29th, 2021.
