BMW showcases the new 2021 BMW M3 Sedan in a new commercial.
The spot follows a young man as he sets his eyes on a M3 driving around, in what it seems a desert part of a city, and then becoming the driver of a M3 Sedan. After using a chainsaw to make a hole into a fence and take a look at the Sedan, he is shown getting at the wheel of the car and speeding across a huge warehouse and down the road, which – apparently – is so exhilarating that he shouts from the top of his lungs. Footage of his ride, which also includes drifting, is juxtaposed with shots of him dancing, laying on his back on the car hood, getting physically closer to a young woman, whom he almost kisses, and shouting.
The soundtrack is a song whose lyrics include “let’s ride endless skies till dawn rushing through eternity so we will rise above”.
The protagonist’s shouting was actually the element that drew people’s attention and criticism, besides the car’s huge front grille, which was not appreciated by fans at all.
The 2021 BMW M3, featuring 503bhp, M-division’s latest twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine, an eight-speed automatic gearbox, will be available for purchase in March 2021. For the first time on an M3, buyers will be able to opt for an adaptive four-wheel-drive system.
