HBO Max has released the trailer for the upcoming film Superintelligence.
The comedy, written by Steve Mallory and directed by Bobby Cannavale, stars Melissa McCarthy as Carol Peters, a woman whose life takes a dramatic turn when she starts getting snarky backtalk from her TV, phone and microwave. According to the official synopsis, at first she thinks she is being punked or losing her mind, but she soon finds out that the world’s first superintelligence has selected her for observation, taking over her life with a bigger, more ominous plan to take over everything,” and she becomes “humanity’s last chance to prove that people are worth saving”.
The cast also includes James Corden as the voice of the Superintelligence, Bryan Tyree Henry, Sam Richardson, Karan Soni, and Jean Smart as the President of the United States.
The trailer, scored by Queen’s iconic single Under Pressure, gives viewers a glimpse into Carol’s life after she is chosen by the Superintelligence, including her talking with objects around the house, as well as into her adventures, as she turns from a random woman into an important one.
Superintelligence premieres this Thanksgiving Day (November 26) on HBO Max.
