Cheetos has partnered with Bad Bunny for the brand’s latest campaign, “Deja Tu Huella”, which aims to inspire the next generation to leave their mark in their culture.
The spot features the rapper (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio by his real name) in the recording studio, who, after eating a Flaming Hot Crunchy Cheetos from a bag left by Chester Cheetah, starts singing and dancing, with everything glowing in the dark and a new song playing in the background. “In life, you choose to leave things just like they are… or you can choose to leave your mark,” Bad Bunny says to the camera in Spanglish, adding the tagline “That is a Cheetos thing” in voiceover.
Bad Bunny’s partnership with the the Frito-Lay brand was announced last month, after he was spotted filming a commercial in the streets of Boyle Heights in California.
Cheetos, in collaboration with the singer’s Good Bunny Foundation, is giving back to the Hispanic community with a $500,000 commitment. The brand is also sponsoring the expansion of the Latin award categories at this year’s American Music Awards, including favorite male artist, favorite female artist, favorite album, and favorite song.
Cheetos announced that Bad Bunny’s new song with Chester Cheetah (called “anthem”) will debut during the American Music Awards on November 22.
